AUDIENCE: K-12 Educators, Leadership, and Support Staff

Join this 2-part discussion webinar series to support and promote a learning environment where diversity is embraced as we provide opportunities for all to learn about Indigenous ways of knowing, being, doing and relating. We will explore the concept of allyships and being good allies in our classrooms and school communities.  In this conversation-based series we will engage in conversations using these guiding questions.

  • As we are applying foundational knowledge of First Nations, Metis and Inuit ways of knowing in our classrooms to support all learners, what do we need to embrace that is successful already?
  • Using the experiences of all students, how does your own approach relate to and compliment ways you create conversations about reconciliation in the classroom?
  • How do we take action to honor the lived experiences of many Indigenous people across Alberta?
  • What approaches has your school community addressed to build capacity in First Nations, Metis and Inuit education?

The series will have elders and leaders in Indigenous education as part of this conversation.
