In his leadership research, Michael Fullan shares with us that sometimes we need to go ‘outside’ to become stronger ‘inside’.  The High School Redesign network day is designed to help us do exactly that – interact with others so that we might learn from diverse perspectives to help inform our own journeys in redesign.

The day will begin with insights from Alberta Education, which will reflect on the Moving Forward With High School Redesign journey and bring learnings from the field. Following this will be presentations and success stories from the field, with a focus on instructional design and assessment strategies for student learning. Focused conversations will follow, affording participants the time to share with others about barriers and challenges, and brainstorm creative solutions.

The second part of the day will follow a similar process, with a focus on the impact that educator roles, professional learning and collaboration have on quality teaching.
