TARGET AUDIENCE: K-6 TEACHERS, COACHES NUMERACY LEADS AND ADMINISTRATORS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND

What does it mean to be fluent with your math facts and how do you support students in becoming fluent?  Automaticity is part of fluency, but it’s not the whole story.   Join us for a 3-part series examining how we can support students with their math fact fluency.

We will look at

  • What does it mean to 'master' your number facts?
  • What can we do when they don’t know their number facts?
  • How can we support flexible thinking to develop fluency?  Why is this important?
  • What is the value the role of students sharing their thinking with each other?
  • How might we set up our classrooms for fluency support throughout the year?
  • How do we assess fluency with math facts?

By the end of this series you will have increased your comfort in supporting students' mathematical fluency, you will have new ideas for teaching strategies and you will have had the chance to do the math yourself to experience these ideas from the student point of view, as well as debriefing from the teacher point of view.  And… did we mention, you will have ready-to-go learning experiences to take back and use right away with your students.  Join us for a series of purposeful fun math learning.
