Join us for 3 full days to learn how to inclusively and collaboratively plan for, and respond to, the diversity in today’s elementary classrooms! Leverage the collective expertise of your school team to provide meaningful programming for students and strong universal supports.

Day 1

Morning Introductory Session: What is inclusive education? How has it evolved, and what does it mean in today’s classrooms?

Targeted frameworks/strategies: Teaching to diversity, concept-based approach, competency instruction, 21st century learning.

Afternoon Session: Getting to know our learners

Targeted frameworks/strategies: Class profiles, Student profiles, Response to Instruction (RTI)

Day 2

Designing inclusive curricular plans for diverse classrooms: Planning and assessment

Targeted frameworks/strategies: Backwards design, Planning pyramid, Modifying conceptual lenses, Standards based assessment

Day 3

Designing inclusive lessons: From access to challenge

Targeted frameworks/strategies: Universal design for learning, Lesson phases, Open ended strategies, Formative assessment, Response to Instruction (RTI).
