Dr. Yvonne Poitras Pratt
is a Métis scholar whose family ancestry traces to the historic Red River Settlement and, more recently, to the Fishing Lake Métis Settlement in northeastern Alberta. Yvonne's passion for teaching Indigenous education classes at the graduate and undergraduate level has been recognized with two teaching awards, and she recently led the collaborative development of a graduate certificate program where students are asked to respond to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 calls to action through capstone service-learning projects. Her publications include topics of Indigenizing practices, reconciliatory pedagogy, service-learning, social justice, and the integration of arts and media in education.
