AUDIENCE: K-2 CLASSROOM TEACHERS AND LITERACY COACHES WORKING WITH LLI SYSTEMS IN CLASSROOMS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.
This is an introductory LLI in-service training, designed for K-2 teachers and literacy coaches who have begun the implementation of LLI within their schools (LLI Orange, Green, and Blue Systems). Educators are encouraged to register as a school team.
Please bring a LLI Lesson Guide & Prompting Guide from any LLI System.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will:
- Learn about specific strategies targeted at struggling reads (K-2)
- Discover what research tells us about struggling readers
- Recognixe the explicit intstructional strategies to build reading comprehension, fluency, and comprehension
- Learn about the reading-writing connections and development of effective processing systems
- Discuss how to conduct, record, code, and analyze Reading Records
- View video clips from the Professional DVD's, discuss other Professional Resources that build literacy capacity and increase teacher literacy effectiveness
- Unpack the LLI system review components, classroom management, scheduling and assessment
- Review classroom grouping strategies and placement of students within the LLI system
