It is an exciting time in our province as Alberta Education continues its development of a student-centered provincial curriculum that will enrich students' lives and prepare them for careers in an ever changing global landscape.  This spring, Alberta Education is looking to Albertans to participate in a validation process where education stakeholders will be able to provide their reflections of the Kindergarten – Grade 12 draft subject introductions and draft scope and sequence (essential understandings, guiding questions, concepts and procedures) through an online survey in the following subject areas:  Mathematics, English Language Arts/French Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Fine Arts, and Wellness Education.

The Calgary Regional Consortium is once again organizing face-to-face sessions for teachers not able to participate in focus groups or through engagement sessions hosted in their school authoroties,  parents and community members in our Calgary area as a part of the engagement process.  During this CRC facilitatied session, particpants will become aware of the curriculum development process, develop an understanding of the draft subject introductions and draft scope and sequence, and then engage in collaborative conversations to support their individual repsonses to the online survey questions as the avenue for participants to provide their reflections back to Alberta Education.

This learning opportunity is being provided through a grant from Alberta Education.
