Calgary Regional Consortium

About Us


The Calgary Regional Consortium:

  • is one of seven regional consortium that make up the Alberta Regional Professional Development Consortia
  • works with schools, school authorities and six partner organizations-- ATA, ASBA, ASCA,  ASBOA, CASS, University of Calgary and Alberta Education-- to create professional learning opportunities
  • develops programs based on learning needs identified by school and school district personnel as well as parents and partner organizations


Mission

The Calgary Regional Consortium is committed to improving student learning through the  provision of professional development, in-service and training opportunities to the K-12 education community.

Vision

To provide the best learning opportunities for our educational community.

Goals  

The CRC's goals are to:

Facilitate professional development which supports the effective implementation of the Alberta Education Business plan, Jurisdiction and School Education plans and Regional School Council plans.

Coordinate, broker and act as a referral centre to assist stakeholders access professional development resources.

Deliver professional development based on the identified and emerging needs of educational stakeholders.

Facilitate professional development which supports the effective implementation of curricula including instruction, assessment and student learning outcomes.

Promote and support the development of professional development leadership capacity, provide stakeholders with access to professional development at a reasonable cost.

The Calgary Regional Consortium believes in:

Providing learning opportunities focused on enhancing student learning.

Collaborating with partner organizations as a means of creating meaningful professional development, in-service and training opportunities.

Providing multiple approaches to professional development, in-service and training to meet the emerging needs of the K-12 education community.

Modeling effective professional development, in-service and training.

Providing accessible and affordable professional development, in-service and training.

Encouraging networking among members of the K-12 education community.
